Ok that was fun. Yes, it was great seeing Trump deliver a reflective, unifying speech. Yes it was great watching Eric Trump show that the ability to rouse up a crowd is inherited. Same with Don Jr. Yes it was great seeing Hulkamania run wild at the RNC. But the sight of over the hill, overweight white people trying to show that they’re hip and jam out to Kid Rock with bandages on their ears was AMAZING, I haven't laughed that hard in years. If I wasn't a Republican before that would have convinced them.
Now if Joe survives the next few weeks the DNC will be a mess. Not necessarily the production but the protesters in the audience against Joe, the Pro Palestinian protesters outside, the Woke messaging. The crowd will be filled with Pride flags, drag queens and the fringes of society. AOC and friends will take the stage and give speeches trouncing the regular Americans that we just saw at the RNC. Instead of Hulk Hogan we’ll get real American heroes like Dylan Mulvaney and Greta Thunberg (Yes not American). We’ll hear how we’re killing the planet and all going to die. Maybe Taylor Swift will show up. They will insult MAGA Republicans and if we defend ourselves ask “Well so much for unity huh?”
But the RNC..that was a great fun night. Trump was in top form. The cable channels were all in awe of the spectacle. Except for MSNBC that just pretended to be there by projecting the convention on the LED wall behind. Pretend coverage for a pretend news network.
Nobody protested outside. No lonely white boy was positioned across the street with a snipers rifle and free line of sight. The Republican National Convention was raucous and fun. The most amazing thing that happened was that Joe was still in the race from the start of the speech to the end. Trump spoke for 90 minutes. It was so long that I had to check the news on my phone to see if Joe was still in or if he just said “F it!” and bowed out.
Amber Rose was in the house. The Rapper detailed her metamorphosis from Trump Hater to Trump Lover and how her perceptions had changed. Immediately she was branded a traitor and found all of the love that comes with Black Conservatism sitting there with a shiny bow. The Republican Party thanks to Trump continues to make roads into the Black and Hispanic voting rolls and it scares the crap out of the left.
The most drama of the convention was sitting there, waiting, with bated breath to see if Kid Rock sang that one line in American Badass. You know the line…I was waiting there..just wondering. In the end he didn't. We got the radio edit.
And we got JD Vance. I like him. Sounds good. Looks good. Well kinda good. He looks like a ten year old who used an app to draw a beard on his selfie but.. He is funny, great and fills the need. If he grows more…we maybe…4 years?
Its all optimism now and that's fine. That's how it should be. I just hope Joe can hold on. I think he’s the best to go against. So let’s go Joe.
